First Game with GameSalad
Posted by admin under Uncategorized on Thursday Jan 14, 2010Well I have immersed myself in GameSalad for 48 hours and ended up with a game! The project I chose was to implement the excellent Robotron originally done by Williams Inc. One of my favourite games and I thought a good start would be to do this a test project.
Whilst the game plays really well in the GS environment once I put it onto the device it runs far too slow. I had read in the forums that spawning lots of actors (enemies increase with each level) did create a large memory overhead.
So overall I am damn impressed you can create something quite good so fast but feeling a little deflated that I’m not sure this is a viable route to market for arcade games with lots of objects on screen.
